Would you offer Phil Neville a one year contract in January?

If you can, find the pre match previews of the semi against the rs in April.

Then watch the two captains introducing their teams and see the huge difference between Neville and GBH.

Not saying its the reason why we lost but it summed up completly the differing attitudes between the 2 as players and the clubs they represented.

Yes. He's a good influence about the place and a good captain.

He's well respected by everyone at Everton and within the game.

We all want better players at Everton, but in getting rid of Neville, you'd lose more than you'd gain. Replacements of his calibre and experience cost decent money.

Very good servant to the club and knows what it means to be an Evertonian.

That said, I think it would be a good time for him to start heading down the coaching road.

i was sick of neville 5years ago and hes got worse since then, hes only had a few decent games recently. i cant see what he brings to EFC on the pitch so if he is good in the dressing room then leave him there so he can dye his hair more or something. we need a captain with a bit of fire not a mild mannered janitor like super-phil

Some people seem to have a lack of respect for Phil on here and I find that disgusting considering what hes done for us. I think he has been great to this club and a key factor in our rise from mid table mediocrity to regular European challengers.

He deserves a new contract but I feel considering what he has left to offer it should be one of two things. A significantly reduced wage one year contract which would consider him as a backup player to first team. Or a slightly reduced wage contract in a player/coach role. I think his effect in the dressing room shouldn't be underestimated, the guy is a winner and that rubs off well on the team.

I agree with this. He could of sat on his ass at utd and picked up his money but instead wanted to move on and play football. He has bought into the whole efc thing and been the ultimate pro and ambassador for our gr8 club. He has helped knit the squad together over the years an played wherever he's been needed. IMO he is still the best RB at the club at this present moment.

Gets far too much vile abuse on here and forums. Everyone is entitled to there opinion and I agree his days as a CM player are long gone but the odd game here and there can be useful (1st game utd). Is it really his fault moyes plays him there!?!?

He's been gr8 overall, seems a top guy and can still offer things to the squad. NO not as a CM player but that should be a sigh in moyes direction for picking him there, not a hatred on Neville.
