Would you offer Phil Neville a one year contract in January?

Yeah why not, I like the guy. Seems to be the scapegoat a lot when he's not actually that terrible imo. Sometimes actually being very good. We do need to get better but he's an excellent utility player and a great leader. Can't say he's single handedly lost or won us games. He's just there and he does a job. Sign him up moylez.

Except he isn't a utility player. He's a first XI player. That is the issue here.

Haha stop popcorning

Who would play right back if Hibbert got injured?

Someone not on £50k a week who's 35 years old and quite useless I'd suggest.

If we're in a situation where we can't bring in a better alternative at right back to Phil Neville then the club may as well jack it in now.

Not sure how such a short post can get me to disagree with so many parts of it. Anyway, each Evertonian to their own.

Player / Coach role for me.
how much do you like his little floaty crosses? his lightning speed? he does clap the supporters at the end of the game though so i suppose it evens out.

Why is this so close?

People are bloody mental, i'm surprised the "at least he's better than Earl Barrett" excuses haven't come out, most on here love to spout off that 90's shit when they can...

1. He's an extremely limited footballer.
2. He's on megabucks.
3. Moyes loves him.
4. He's 35.
5. He's 35 with blonde highlights.

For that reason, i'm out.

This. Truly shocked at how close this is.

I don't mind people disagreeing with me obviously, I'm just confused as to why. I've read through the thread and nobody has given a reason for keeping Neville that has made me think "at least they sort of have a point there."

The stats suggest we win more with him in the side than without over the past few years???
