Would this team win the Premier Leaqgue?

The thing that worries me about these 'hypothetical best XI threads' is that we never take into consideration
how league has evolved over the years... The premier league has become one of the most physically grueling leagues in the world to compete in...
Would players from 2,3 or 4 decades ago be able to handle the physical demands that is required to play todays league?

They would be just as good. They'd be coached and trained under the current methods. No smoking at half time, either.

A lunatic Red on the the old Echo messageboard tried to convince us that Dixie was vastly overated. He seemed not to have taken into account that he played for a lot of his career on muddy grounds with waterlogged leather balls.

A lot of us saw George Best. What a player. He was a genius when played and he'd have been a genius now.

Steven or Kanchelskis is an unbelievably hard call. Tricky Trev was a fantastic player and for me out of that midfield ( Steven-Reid-Sheedy-Bracewell) the one it would be hardest to leave out.

In the premiership years Kanchelskis is this most talented player I've seen in an Everton shirt. Obv Rooney would have been up there had he stayed and possibly Arteta as his very peak was a match for him but that's it.

Lets face it, Best wasn't a patch on Peter Beagrie.

You don't like Lineker the pundit, and fair enough. But did you see him play? 40 goals in 39 games in his short career at Everton, I think it was.

Think about those numbers.

Yes I did see him play, don't get me wrong he was a good player but we changed our style of play to a more direct football with him and you know what we won that season. I would have kept andy Gray for another season and we'd have won the double.
