wahoo, just found out i didn't waste any money on netherlands not going through. just wasted a couple of quids on spain topping the group, which may still happen. also realised i'd also put a bet on ivory coast and columbia as top two, to wipe out the money i would lose on IC and greece that i took a punt on, should columbia win this game.
 
Overheard someone talking on Betfair Radio about football betting in the World Cup - about a week or so ago - he recommended laying the team that takes the lead.. (I guess the timing of the goal might be important) - either way you've seen Brazil come from 0-1 to 3-1, Holland 0-1 to 5-1 and Costa Rica 0-1 to 3-1 - you'd have netted a top profit on those last two for sure. With the exception of the Croatia goal nearly all of the favourites have scored first so if you pick the favourite and lay on their taking the lead (or simply bet on the team that has conceded you would have done well).

Yep, i thought the bookies had it wrong with the odds. They are now back tracking on the odds for over 2.5 goals per game now. Wish i backed more, but done a few more bets like the above. Its been goals goals and more goals and the bookies banked on low scoring games.
