Vintage? At 39? I remember my 40th birthday. I was rehearsing the part of Trinculo, in The Tempest. One of the cast bought me a card saying 'Oh no, four oh!' I can't remember if I felt vintage - probably more like 20 knowing me. Right now I feel more like 40 (mentally, if not physically)

Not really, you're young enough to be my brother but not my son. How long until you get your state pension? I was lucky, sneaked in at 65. Mrs TT had to wait until she was 62 even though she's only four months younger than me.

The festive period is not suiting me

I've done it again - looked before I've leapt - and seen it's obviously a tricky one.

I don't think it made any difference because I started with that same word again, getting what proved to be my first green. When I then put that second yellow next to it the word suddenly came to me, but I wish I hadn't looked in first.

Ouch!

Mrs TT just corrected me. She was 59 when the government announced the new retirement dates. She was actually 63 and 4 months when she got hers. Scandalous when you think about it. Luckily she had her teacher's pension (she was SENCO - Special Education Needs Coordinator - at an infant's school) but the WASPIs had a point!

We baby-boomers are the cause of it of course. Being one of seven (admittedly only #2) I suppose I ought to feel guilty. Mrs TT was an only child so she's in the clear.
