I think most fans plod along because there is literally nothing you can do about it. Would love everton to be brilliant, but they are not and we cant do anything about it, no point getting stressed about a game that's so out of touch with the normal person.
That's not strictly true though, people can stop giving the club money for starters knowing full well it's not going anywhere near the actual club. I stopped giving this club money years ago because I decided Kenwright wasn't getting a penny more out of me. An awful lot of our fanbase still think Bill is ace and not at fault for anything and it's just all bad luck and are happy with plodders like Dyche in charge. Go back a few years and no Evertonian would have accepted Dyche as manager. I don't actually think the game is out of touch, I think it's more us that's out of touch with the modern game, sport evolves just like everything in life and we haven't evolved with it.

I'm at a 6th stage of wishing it was over for good. I'd probably stop watching/caring about football if Everton went under and I'm really warming to the idea.
Yeah, pretty much this.

I think very few non-Evertonians would care and less would even remember us soon enough.

(Un)fortunately we'll probably be around for a while yet.

Stopped watching them when Benitez took over and I became utterly disillusioned with the sport because it’s completely pointless unless you support Manchester City.

Only know what’s going on because my dad cannot comprehend that I no longer support the club.

Come on here when I’m bored because it’s largely a good bunch.

There’s a lot more to life than Everton and football in general, bring it on.

I'm at the stage of 'i love Beto for some reason' and I still feel the need to sit in my chair and watch the game every weekend despite the rage and disappointment it brings me

So very true, I will still watch them as long as they are there but long gone are the days where I would still be upset/angry at a result after the game. It is literally, final whistle goes and boom on goes my life with no difference.

During the game I can still get het up, just like I was for the Rugby and will be during the Ryder Cup, but it is only sport and I would advise anybody to just take a step back and look at life outside of watching football, you may just enjoy the football more after that is contemplated.
