Wildlife in your Garden

Blue Tit rather than a squirrel or Robin, but hopefully they're suitably blurry JJ. ;)

It`s amazing how quickly they find new nesting sites.

When I`m out running, all I`m seeing at the moment is birds investigating holes in trees, cracks in walls and in particular the ring necked parakeets, that just seem to be everywhere.

Saw bluetits in and out several times today. No sign yet that they will actually nest there, but obviously checking it out so fingers crossed.🤞
Update on this.
Been watching them in and out of the box with bits of moss etc this morning, so pretty sure that they are actually building a nest in there. Obviously don't want to disturb them too much but I will take a look inside in the next few days and hopefully be able to take a picture once a week or so of any progress. ;)

Looks like it could be an early start for the nesting season, as the crows on the park by us, are now sitting on eggs ( I can see her tail poking out over the edge of the nest )

They don`t normally lay eggs until the end of March / early April at the earliest.

I`ll go and have a look at what the Mossley Hill Peregrines are up to when I get the chance, as they normally lay in April too and I`d at least expect to see them doing the spectacular loop the loops and vertical dives as part of their courtship ritual.

Spring has certainly sprung early this year mate. ;)
Ttry to get some Peregrine pics if you get chance.
I have registered to record the progress of the Blue Tit nest via the 'nesting neighbours' survey run by the BTO.

Put my my bird box up this morning, later than usual. Within ten minutes the great tits were in it!
;) ;)

Absolutely love this time of year. There are now three nests on the go in my small back garden. In addition to the Blue Tits in the shed and the Robins in the Ivy there is now a Blackbird building in the shrubs, just about 2 yards away from the Robins.
keep your eye on the magpies. the lesser defended nests they'll go through like razor blades.

I hate them so much.
