Why i think we will spend in Jan

Just to throw it out there .. if we did somehow get ( i know we wont ) 45-50m for afro would you rather the money be spent on new players or ... pay off the debts of the club and have no intrest out goings and start making money instead of losing? also a chance of a take over. (also i think the prize money for winning champ league is about 47m)

So no debt or players?

Fellaini has ages on his contract, THIS Jan is not critical
For us to be a seller, willing or unwilling-ish there first has to be a buyer
What we need is
1) A bidding war
2) Even better, once the seasons cards have fallen where they will, an end of season bidding war.
3) what we also need to happen is that his Dad / Agent needs a reality check on just how good ( good but not super great )
his son is ( not going to happen, all he sees is ka-ching / pound signs )

I think the Chinese curse may you live in 'interesting ' times will be to the fore in the next 9mths

Managable debt is ok, which I think is where we are now.

I think we have circa £6m to spend in January which I think MUST be spent on Vadis Odija Ofoe to allow Neville to begin his wind down towards retirement. It would give Ofoe 6 months to settle, easing him in to games in a very important position, allowing Neville to be the main cover for Gibson when experience is needed, then next year, CL (if we qualify) we will have two strong players in the CDM position who both bring different qualities to the team for differing opposition and tactical neccesities. Neville will no doubt remian club captain, but as a 3rd choice replacement for RB and CDM.

I'd be happy with that.

Yes! I have been saying this for years...(not actually to anyone but in my own head :-) ) As it is now if you watch it on tv you can hardly see if the ball goes inside or outside of the post. Right now I prefer us scoring away from home just because it looks better... Hope my rant makes sense :-)

ok i think i have found someone to replace felli, he's Belgium, same sort of age and most important that people who wear the afro in the crowd only have to give it a bit of a trim, he looks pretty handy to.

Axel Witsel about 6-7m

you mean the same guy Zenit St Petersburg have just spent 40 Million Euros(£32Million) on? Not sure we'll get him for 6-7million.

I hope we buy some white nets.

****ing hate the blue ones. Actually ruins the aesthetics of a goal going in. Same with the ****e and the red nets, and City and their black nets. The nets are too tight, and they also hardly look as if there's anything there. Probably makes it harder for the players as well as it's so much harder subconsciously to shoot in just the goal frame than it is to shoot in the frame with a massive white net on it. We've all played down the park, and then Sunday League. Big difference.

My last post was obviously in reply to this post...I'm using my phone and I am just realising that I am more or less retarded :-)

The 23-year-old midfielder signed for Benfica from Standard Liege last summer in a €7 million (£5.5m) deal and quickly became a key player at the Portuguese club.

looks like ive missed somthing then? has he gone to zenit .. thats why i never became a scout lol

Yeah, him and Hulk in are both at Zenit £64 million spent on both.

I agree with the op but how about spending against the increase in tv money in Jan. If we leave it until the summer then all the other clubs will just put up the fees knowing the PL has more money. Spend it in Jan as this would be guaranteed future income.
