Why can't we win the league

Our current team is good enough to beat anyone in the league. Will We? As WBA showed, nope. But if the players can manage to play to the full of their ability and luck in injuries, there is no reason why we couldn't. But it's going to be tough. And we have to stop conceding goals.

I think January will be kind to us, and getting Gibbo back makes us even better. The rest of the league can [Poor language removed].

I'm sensing unbridled confidence from you mr dawg...I think we may invest in one or two, hopefully to ease Neville out of the side and cement a top 6 place/storm to 100 points shocking the establishment to the bloody core.

I'm very optimistic. I love this team. Unlike some, I'm enjoying the moment, and not waiting for the other shoe to drop. Our form since January has been amazing. That's not an abberation, it's a trend folks.

This probably doesn't deserve such a considered response, but we are nowhere near league champions material.

Our 1st XI is good, although hardly quality everywhere (does anyone really think we have a quality right back on the books, for instance?)

Our "fringe" players hardly covered themselves in glory on Tuesday, so it doesn't enthuse me with confidence that if we lose the likes of Baines, Pienaar, Fellaini or Jelavic for any remotely significant period of time the wheels won't come off entirely.

Even allowing for that, the likes of United, City and Chelsea are miles better than us on paper and have much stronger squads.

Arsenal are also better and, if we're honest, that's probably what the top 4 will be by the end of the season.

Realistically we could finish anywhere between 5th and 8th depending on what happens with injuries on our side and how the likes of Spurs and Liverpool do.

Top 4 will only really be a possibility of any sort if one of the aforementioned presumed top 4 underachieve significantly, and even then only if Spurs (who are also stronger on paper) and Liverpool (who could go either way but do have quality in key areas) don't kick on. Even Newcastle could feasibly finish above us if things don't go our way.

I know we're 2nd as things stand, but to me even talk of the top 4 is a bit daft at this point.

I think there's five squads better than ours. Chelsea, City, United, Arsenal and Spurs. Then you've got to fancy us to get 6th. I could only see us edging out a maximum of one more of that top 5 and stealing 5th if we do really well. Arsenal or Spurs. Whatever happens, a top 6 finish would be a massive achievement given the money spent by those around us.

It's odd then that here we don't really seem to be getting much recognition for such a run of form. Makes you wonder what we'd have to do to get noticed by media.

We're not allowed to win the league. Only the Manchester clubs, Chelsea, Arsenal etc can or it will upset Sky and the rest of the media

* Anyway, if we did somehow win it the headlines would read " City LOSE the title "

** We'll still be boss wherever we finish, like

Let's hope our run of form continues and the players keep on improving individually, and as a team. It's unlikely, but not many anticipated the dawn of HK's era. Wonder how FM (etc) would have rated his squad ?

When it comes to actually compiling a squad, yeah Moyes does a very good job better than most due to the money issue.

But once we've got those squads and the season starts he simply does an ok job, occasionally he has over performed, occasionally he has under pewrformed.

But thats why it annoys me so much when any kind of failure is simply blamed on money. Price tags don't win games, manager and player ability does.
