Anything is possible with this owner. Basically expect an appointment (the permanent one, not temp) that at least half the supporters are against and for us to do another full circle and be back here again within a year later. The man is not going to get any better at running football clubs until he stops dabbling with every single department and brings in outside professionals.

It’s a product of our bonkers ownership, they have properly backed us into a corner where I reckon options are really limited, Benitez should have gone after the Derby and get someone in ahead of the transfer window.

I doubt right now many managers would fancy it, mid transfer window, fpp issues. I guarantee kenwright is banging on the ‘it has to be a blue’ drum.

Options seem to be:
Martinez on a short term deal
Ferguson on an interim
Rooney

Some might argue that Martinez experience would be preferable over the potential inexperience of Ferguson and Rooney in what is undoubtedly a relegation scrap. Out of those three I honestly don’t know who is best, Ferguson has been here for multiple failed regimes, Rooney is a novice with no pressure but ultimately doing good at Derby, Martinez for all his faults has been around the block , managed at a higher level etc - but still…it’s a worry.
Yes it's a worry. Would be interesting to see who would be on his staff this time round. I'm sure he would retain Duncan but a specialist defensive coach would be a good move.

Toss up between Rooney and Potter for me

I would love to see Rooney have a go, but I fear we don't have the safety in sight to take the risk, plus I want him to do it at Derby, what a story.

Not sure Potter would even want to

I thought the sarcasm was really visible in his tweet.

It's clearly a sarcastic tweet

He's joking.

It's not funny, but he's joking.
Okay caught up now. Had my COVID booster yesterday and between feeling like crap and the roller coaster that is supporting Everton I guess my sarcasm radar is down or I’m just not in the mood for it.

My bad, carry on

God I hope we get a competent manager with an actual plan
