He didn't reccomend Benitez. You forget the sh t show he walked into.
How many managers has he had to deal with?
Who is in charge at Everton in reality?
I don't think anyone knows. But to lay it all at his door is myopic at best, in the same way players don't suddenly become bad overnight, unless they sign for us, neither does Brands.
I gave him plenty of leniency for the situation he walked into, however he's had three years to turn that situation on its head yet he's made it even worse. He's run us preposterously close to breaking Premier League rules on accumulated losses thanks to his dreadful purchases and non-existent sales.
Why was Steve Walsh never afforded the same good will from supporters for his tenure. The narrative for many on here seems to be that Walsh was a bumbling buffoon who was 100% responsible for all the disaster that occurred while he was here yet Brands is a shackled genius who has Moshiri and Kenwright meddling with his every move.
Yet Brands was appointed to the board, Walsh was not. Brands was given a new contact, Walsh was fired from a cannon. Yet Walsh had complete autonomy and Brands does not? Sorry, doesn't wash with me.
The question is not "how did he turn bad overnight?", but rather, "Was he ever good to begin with?" And the answer, as it is so often with our players, is a resounding NO.
