I very much doubt that any of our American fans support Everton just because of Tim Howard. Yes, for some, Howard playing for us raised their awareness of us initially, but if they were the type to pledge and switch allegiance so easily, then they probably wouldn't be supporting Everton in the first place, and would more likely be supporting our red neighbours.

I think it's great we have so many American fans!

I think the notion that our American supporters will cease supporting Everton now Howard has departed is frankly insulting. Being a fan of Everton is not defined by your proximity to L4. Long may our American friends continue to support us, and one would hope with a bit of effort from the club increase that support in the years to come.

I think we have an amazing story to sell to American sports fans - just wish the club would commit some resource and expertise to it.
