Who will be proved right? Moyes or Rodgers.

Don't really understand.
We finished 7th in the first season Rooney played for us. We finished 17th the next season but that was more to do with the seasoned pros giving up once we were safe from relegation in about March.
Quite how that relates to Raheem Sterling being played alongside Gerrard, Suarez etc and Ross Barkley I've no idea.

I spend more time looking at Everton. I have a sort of system if you will. I want Everton to be better than every other team in the world. When they are not I want them to be better than Liverpool!

horses for courses. It's circumstantial but be real sterling has played what 4 games? Hardly carrying them is he and they haven't won with him in the side. Barkley is 18 and the fact you even posted this thread tells me you're expectation of his is far too high. Let the lad develop his game grow into a man and then if he is showing signs that he could be the player you are expecting you can start to hope.

18 with the hopes and dreams of so many resting on your shoulders, glad i'm not in his shoes(except the coin obviously.)

My expectations for Barkley were very high last year, they were for most to be fair.
Sterling has had four games plus pre season and he has been called up for England, again my point is not wether or not these players are actually all that good just that they carry the weight of expectation which in the case of Barkley Moyes has pulled him out, in the case of Sterling Rodgers, as of now has not.

Too many expected this from Rodwell and the poor lad got bashed from pillar to post because he wasn't Xavi by his 21st birthday. you can risk chucking young lads in the side out on the wing but CM is a different kettle of fish. I for one am happy with the kid gloves approach.

When Rooney burst into the first team at Everton he stood out so much that he made the seasoned proffesionals look distinctly average. That year we came very close to being relegated in what was Moyes worst season with us.

We came seventh in Rooney's first season. 17th in his second.

Against Villareal, Werder Bremen ( I think it was them, it could have been another German team) and against QPR.

73 mins vs Villareal (we lost 1-0), 66 mins vs Werder Bremen (we lost 1-0) and 90 mins vs QPR (we lost 1-0).

When he plays a game, and drives us on to victory, and maybe scores his first goal, and has a run of, oh, 5 to 10 games at least where he excels, then and only then can anyone compare him to Rooney and start questioning how Moyes handles him.

I've seen him numerous times for the reserves, when he hasn't stood out or done anything special. His loan spell at Sheff Wed will tell us a hell of a lot more about him and his potential than one EFC game where he played 90 minutes.

Talk about jumping the gun.

I think you have missed my point. He stood out from any member of our team in those games. Bring up the match threads to see for your self just how much people on here raved about him. I'm saying that despite standing out the team was still losing!!! Like with Liverpool, the lad stands out playing with the likes of Gerrard and Suarez yet the team are at the bottom end of the league, yet to win a game.

Not sure whats wrong with the question here....

For me, I'd say the problem is that Sterling plays on the wing and barkley in centre mid.

Pool dont have any wingers other than downing who has been a flop. Whereas we have had a good number of centre mids ahead of barkley....

I think playing wingers is low risk compared to a central midfielder and that moyes dropped him as he was defensively naive.
