with half the season still to play, if we go down, whoever comes in will be tarred with relegation because it's not like we're stranded.

ideally, we sign someone until the end of the season and then make a decision, but i can't see any of the main candidates agreeing to that kind of contract unless they are desperate.
 
Got to be Rooney.

Ticks a lot of boxes and the board will see him as someone who can reunite the club.

The fans don't need to be re-united, we already are united. We all want the same thing, to see the team improve and stay up.

It's the relationship between club and fans that is beyond repair. No new manager will be able to rebuild that relationship

I said reunite the club not the fans.

Rooney gets a few results and saves us from the drop and most fans will be back on board… that’s what the board will think.
