I know this will be controversial, but those saying match going fans opinions aren’t more relevant than none match going fans are akin to Geordies and Spurs fans when they say how many titles they’ve won isn’t relevant to why they’re a bigger club than Everton.

I’ve often thought it’s no coincidence that their fans think that titles won is irrelevant in that particular debate, in the same way that none match going fans think it’s irrelevant that they don’t go the game and their opinion is just as important as those who give their time and money to go the game.

As said, controversial, but as a none match going fan, there’s no way I’d start an argument with a fan who goes every game and has a different opinion to me.

I used to go the game. I don't now.

I can assure you that my opinion was no more relevant when I had a season ticket than it is now. You may have to explain what you mean by relevance. Relevant to what?

I can tell you with absolute certainty that going to a game doesn't make someone's opinion more informed than other peoples nor vice versa. There are plenty of fans of all clubs who go the match and have blinkers on. They might be full of ale / beak and disappear 10 minutes before half time to get a pint and ten minutes before full time to beat the rush.

I've seen a post on here where a match going fan claimed that James Garner is pretty terrible and offers nothing. Apparently all his match going mates agreed. Are they onto something that the management team and many other fans who watch on the box aren't aware of? Personally I disagreed with the statement but apparently by your logic there's no way I should have offered a differing opinion.
