Can't believe anyone's saying Allardyce. He took a side to 8th, which finished 7th the season before and 8th the season after. I know he likes to paint everything he does as a miracle, but it wasn't, it was just a competent piece of management. Silva was the one who might have actually made a difference. We'll obviously never know and it may be that he'd have got stuck in that rut and never got out of it, but he at least always had an upside and showed promise. There's plenty of evidence to show that we'd never have progressed any further under Allardyce, and Martinez was well on his way to taking us down for sure. I couldn't stand Koeman but if i'd known what the next few years would bring I'd probably have kept him longer than we did.
