Always a sponsorless top? Although I think the last top I actually bought was the fa cup 95 one, when they sent on sale, they had no sponsor.

I had that one. Then I got “Kanchelskis 17” on the back when it said he signed.

Then this happened

I didn’t know until I walked up to Goodison for big Nevs testimonial and got stick for it. Of course he did sign.

Martial art? Depraved sexual practice? Hot snack?

Back on topic, bookies are in the same ballpark as payday loans companies.

Anyone asked @davek yet?
All three please Bob.

So far as another gambling company goes, its sort of apt as they took a chance on the blubbery one last summer and the consequences were looking financially dire.
Football as a whole is morally bankrupt anyhow so its only a matter of time before someone (whos the club with the snakes?) ends up with "SS" on their shirt.

Everton have once again made a betting company their main shirt sponsor.
In so doing, the club has contradicted the suggestion from the CEO at the last Philharmonic Hall AGM that in an ideal world the club would note wish to be associated with betting companies.
Setting aside all the ethical and morality questions - the question is would you rather buy and wear an (old style) unsponsored shirt or one emblazoned with a betting company ?

the one with the biggest Everton badge as that's the team I support , not the logo in the middle of the shirt

Where’s the contradiction?
They never categorically said they would not accept sponsorship from gambling companies, merely they would prefer not to be sponsored by them.
Who says that has changed?
They’ve been sponsored by Parimatch for a while and they’re a gambling outfit.
Contradicted the suggestion

You highlighted it !!!

I didn't like it when they started the advertisements around the ground, I didn't like it when they started advertising on the shirts but that's the way of the world now I don't like it but you have to accept it.
As for the issue about a gambling company on the shirt I am more bothered about the design of the shirt.Does anyone really believe that people are going to start gambling because we have stake on the shirt?
If that was the case How come Cazoo are on the verge of bankruptcy?
Just take the money off the soft [Poor language removed] and move on weve got bigger fish to fry.

I bought and wore the Sportpesa one (ironically the sponsor name pealed off), and I’ll buy this one too.

Which ever 1 gave us the most money.
1) How much are they paying us
2) How bad do we need the money

Also how you ask the question may shade your answer...

Well exactly.

I'd imagine if the poll asked:

Would you rather buy a shirt with or without sponsorship ligos?

The results wouldn't be massively different.

Am I happy it's a gambling company? No. Am I enraged by it? Not at all.

Gambling ads are absolutely everywhere in and around every way we consume football. I hope the legislation passes and the advertising is banned Until that day comes, if Stake offered us the best deal, take it.

You won't find a bigger critic of the board than me, but I can't really berate them for improving a commercial deal, no matter how small the increase.

Simply put, I buy the training wear because it’s nicer.

Do I prefer it to not have a sponsor? Absolutely, 100%. Sponsors make a shirt go outdated.

As a soon to be father I get what people mention when it doesn’t look the same, but clubs make a rod for their own back with changes every season which “minimally” change the design.

Personally for me, I enjoy the innovative way Wigan Rugby do their kits. One season is a traditional kit, the next is somewhat experimental.

All we can do is add a splash of yellow, then remove it each season…. Then they have the audacity of charging £45 for it for kids.

Sponsors come and go, but you can still cherish the shirt without.
