Where and when did it all start going awry for us?

They wouldn't though.

We're Everton. Bellendery is generally quashed early on.

Edit: Park End excluded..... Obvs.

Oh they would still exist, they will never be eradicated.

Imagine Badge Man or Dr Fun in blue, doesn't bare thinking about.

Interesting thought though, if liverpool didnt exist would Bootle have stayed at the level they were at and would they be our big rivals now instead?

Early days of the premier league, we went into it as one of the biggest 3 or 4 clubs.

The chronic lack of ambition from the start saw us rapidly become an also ran, and the club has struggled to recover with yet more lack of ambition ever since.

We won the 95 cup as a big club that was losing its way, that should have kicked us on but the lack of ambition had firmly taken hold by that point.

Moyes arrived at a time we were in such a low place he took the plucky underdog mantra and ran with it for ten years. As some have said, he did what he was asked to by the board at the time. But it was his attitude and style that really cemented our place as a premier league mainstay but no mark.

27th March 1997 when Joe Royle quit, We had no money for players and it stayed pretty much that way until Mosihri, but we havent spent wisely

Looking throughout our history, we seem to produce excellent teams out of nowhere and crap ones too. But are always ever present in the top division. Our last slide started with Roberto Martinez second season, before that it was Bill Kenwright coming on board in 1988. Hopefully we are again on the up.

Around Colin Harvey’s time as manager, great players left and were not replaced adequately some for considerable transfer fees. A brilliant coach but I don’t think Colin suited being a manager. The dressing room was said to not have the best team spirit at the time either.

The luvvy, host of the after match suites main attraction brigade joined the board around that time too and as the years went on we lost better players, finances dwindled, a lot of stop start momentum with signs of things truly changing and then major steps backwards, rinse and repeat.

I’ve read some tweets saying the curse the investment or Moshiri involvement, I understand that however the money isn’t the problem, you clearly need strong finances to compete at the highest level regularly , it’s the decision making that’s been the problem.

Soon after Shankly arrived at Analfield. They rose and have never looked back since, and apart from a brief successful period or two, we fell away.
