What's your very earliest Everton related memory?

About five years ago I found this picture of the ‘68 final, that’s me and my Grandad in the “blue” circle! My Dad and Uncle were on the terraces with the hoards of Everton fans!

….i was in the ‘stands’ too so almost certainly in the same area as you, but not on the front row. Weirdly, I’ve always had a soft spot for the Baggies despite that heartbreaker, @Littlesue will have Jeff Astle down as a hero

84 cup final.

Good place to start I feel
First time I actually saw them play. The CBC broadcast the cup final those days and my dad would make a full English and then we'd watch the game and go play golf. So when we won the 84 game, it was especially memorable as my aformentioned Evertonian granddad had passed only four months earlier.

Growing up abroad it was difficult to watch games. My dad had Astro tv and it would show some games but they were normally on past my bedtime. I remember one time my dad woke me up for a game when we were playing Newcastle and I think Michael ball scored a penalty for us. I also remember getting interviewed at school once by the Disney channel and they asked me who my favourite footballer was and I said it was Mikael Madar. If Everton were playing and they weren’t on tv we would join the mIRC Everton chat and get the live commentary from people typing in the chat. People would troll and say a goal was scored. The good ol days of dial up internet.
