Read what Bruce said again and think on.

It would suggest something has triggered it. We're in a worse position on the field than we were at the end of last season so it would be hard to summise this has made him more optomistic about us in relation to other clubs.

Likewise the summer was a bit of a washout. Now, it could be that he's been nose to the grindstone for the past few months and he has only recently had time to sign the deal, but again given our lacklustre start to the season that doesn't really ring true either, especially given the work he has traditionally put into his job.

After the summer it would appear that Moyes has ambitions for the club. So it would suggest that we are perhaps a little nearer to meeting those ambitions now.

Of course this is just conjecture but that's how things appear to me.

Why now? Who knows: to get the critics off his back?; because he got what he wanted on cash/conditions of employment? As much as I'd like it to be so, I just can't subscribe to the thoery that his signing = imminent takeover.

IMO, we'll be sold when Kirkby finally bites the dust and there really is no way out for Kenwright. When the Sec. of State knocks Destination Kirkby back in it's current guise the vultures will start hovering over the club. Not a moments sooner.

If as some think Bill wants DK to go through and will only deal if thats agreed then I can understand that prospective buyers holding out.I doubt that Kirkby will get the go ahead not because of the ground but the rest of the deal.why we are still tied to tesco, without other options its poor business as far as im concerned but there are far cleverer people on here who will know ? Thanks for the personal attack. Thought that people on here talked about Everton and matter around them not the position of people trying to earn a living and trying to educate the youngsters of today.

Luke not for one minute was it an attack on you ,I would not have your job for double the pay.and as long as I have known Kel(reidy) I very much doubt he would not attack you over this either

Maybe I'm missing something here but I don't see where it's a personal attack on you Luke.

Reidy was just going off as he said, on a rant. But I don't see anything aimed at you. And I'm guessing you haven't seen how Chico can hijack a thread.

it wasnt a personal attack at all, more an attack on the system.

as for the [Poor language removed] you have to put up with every day and me not being able to deal with it.........well, try putting up with arsehole managers on night shifts, customers who dont want to pay, customers who dont pay, going out on call on a saturday night at midnight. no payed holidays as opposed to ? is it 17 weeks per annum ?

my point really is my qualifications arent good enough to be a teacher yet i am expected to do their job after ive done mine. i am expected to take holidays when they deem acceptable, i have to apply to go on holiday for them to turn it down on the basis that i cant interrupt my kids education on the basis of saving money.........then they close the school to go on strike for more money.

like i said more a gripe with the supposedly improved system.

Exactly, reckon he has told himself cannot do any better for the moment is stay at EFC. A contract may be signed but these days they are not written in stone.

We are going to home school our kids, up to high school age, then maybe send them to a private school for high school. There's too many phycho kids at school these days to send them to a public one. A guy I work with, his wife is a teacher, got punched by a kid the other day, made her fall over on some sharp metal object and had to have corizone injections.

I guess i cant talk i did my share of bad stuff at school, but nothing like that.

I think he fianaly signed because he has been told the money will be their he want's to compete. It's been his gripe all along. Wether BK has gotten another loan or we are about to be taken over. He must have had asurances.....

Im fairly sure he could have got a wage similar to what we are paying him elsewhere. Its a lot of money to us, but im sure another team could have matched his wage.

Why does every1 have to look at the money side? Hes signed cos he got some gaurantees that he would be able to compete, i wish ppl would forget about the amount and embrace the fact that we have a manager in charge that has been with us for over 6 years, done a wonderful job and wishes to continue his hard work.

He could easily have thrown his toys out the pram and said the club doesnt match his ambtion and gone to Newcastle for the same amount of money, its not all about money, money, money with Moyes.

In my eyes the manager should always be the highest paid person at a club, onwards and upwards Davey lad.

Hmm, interesting. The reason I started that Moyes in One thread recently was that I detected a shift in how he was being perceived here on the forum. I've always found the man to be full of integrity and whenever he has spoken on tv or in the press it has filled me with pride that this man is our manager, especially so in a world full of such sharks and deviants. But there seems to be a growing opinion that his integrity is slipping, that he's somehow taking on the moral compass of all the others out there in football land that would happily sell their granny for a few extra quid.

It's always been my impression that Moyes is of the old school, his word is his bond etc. To rephrase the initial question, what has changed to alter this perception of him amongst you?

The way he acted this summer bruce. He spat his dummy IMO. I understand he must have been very frustrated with the way things went. An probably didn't recive money that he was told he would have. But the way he acted wasn't very good. The downer he was on, spread right through the club. An as a result the players started the season on a downer. As the manager, one of his jobs is to pick the team up when their down. He never done that. Infact made it much worse. Also his post mach interviews were really hard to take. Some embarresing.

Just hope things are sorted an we get the old moyes back. But he has dented his reputation with most Evertonians, an will have to work very hard to get it back.

Three reasons for me:

1) Loyalty to his players who have signed long term contracts.

2) The fact he is still relatively young and an oppurtunity of a more competitive club coming in for him hasnt presented yet. I think he also has a genuine affection for the club.

3) Am i the only one that thinks that thinks that negotiateing this contract was a complex buissness, i dont think its as cut and dry as many think as in hes signed end of, i think the delay was negotiation in regard to release clauses etc.

The comments at the weekend in the NOTW were worring and certainly have been of a different tact of what we heared form Moyes in the past. It was the first time Moyes has indicated he has hit a glass ceiling in terms of developing the club on whats available. I also took his comments to be a political move or a disclamier in regard to what happened during the summer in the sense of him saying, look i wanted cash to buy players, but the club just wouldnt/couldnt give it me! Worrying IMO.

I just see this as David Moyes' seven year itch. He felt the relationship between himself and the club strained as a result of the lack of funds for transfers, and what looked like some world class dithering from the board during the transfer window. This is why he got a cob on and looked around to see if there was anything else available, and this has had a negative effect on the rest of the family (us).

I hope that the fact he has signed, for now, means a better understanding between Moyes and the board which will translate to a better performance all round.

I have always supported David Moyes, but was beginning to believe he would move on, I'm glad he's signed and look forward to seeing us get back on track for the rest of the season.
