I think @The Esk cash projections are too high. I calc profit for 2017 is 50 million but cash in bank will be about 30 mio (net debt therefore 50mio).
Looking into 2018 accounts I expect player sales (McCarthy?, Cleverley, Niasse )etc to garner 25 mio, a profit of 25 mio. Thus I am envisaging a spend on players of 80million over the two windows

Are the tax credits utilised if Everton reports a 50 mio profit for 2017...anybody know?
In the 16 accounts, just shy of 60 mil losses for relief available, but the wording indicates that there is rollover relief utilised or available within this figure.
If you use the club's own wages figure, expenses would be 110m wages, exceptionals 6mil (koeman) minimum 33mil other, so 149 mil before amortisation and depreciation.
If you take 128 mil as TV money and assume a similar level of other income +10% as last year, you're looking at about 41 mil, so Income of 169.
This gives a profit of 20 mil before amortisation, depreciation, interest/penalties on Pru Loan, interest on the RMF loan which is still outstanding.
Add on player trading account of say 45 mil.
Ciggie packet run out of room.

Net debt is higher if we took out 20mil+ from RFM as indicated by the backdrop at the GM mate .

thanks for that mate.
110m in wages?. Hell, 2016 accounts were 96m and that included Bobby's 10m pay-out. Perhaps the 110 figure includes exceptionals (RK and Walsh) otherwise it suggest real wages increase of 24mio (or about 28%!)

I'm more concerned about who we buy rather than what we spend.

We spent 4 times more on Bolasie than Gueye but Gueye has been a better signing who's improved the team more.

Spurs spent 3 or 4 times more on soldado than eriksen but who was the better signing? All I ask is that we don't lose out on potential signings who the manager wants because of money. If they choose another club then so be it, but as long as we have the money for the players we want then I'll be happy.

No mate, provision for exceptional in 2016 was Bobbys pay off, so 84? from memory wages, so even if payouts are in there, still 103 mill (ish) so 19 mil up.

My only interest is the net result on the field next season.

Top 4 & a cup would be dreamland.

If we did that with a £80m surplus & a handful of Kante/Mahrez style signings, that would be even better.

Agreed, if Koeman and Walsh set their targets and get their men this summer, it will be like a new start for Everton
