Ok, this is a total hypothetical and stuff around question...

But, what if the God of football had to appear to all Evertonians, in his full glory and pose this situation to us:

Everton, can qualify for Europa next season, by clinching 7th... But the RS have to win the Europa this season... Or...
Everton wont qualify for Europa this season, BUT
not only will RS lose in Europa this season, but get humiliated 7-0 as well... By Athletico on Thursday night... At Analfield!

Or neither... Leave it as is, and let it play out in it's natural destiny...

Which would you choose?

Europa league is poison. I believe we played more games than Villa this year by going nowhere in the Europa than they did getting to a semi and a final of domestic cups. Less money too of course. And no doubt all those extra games cost us a few points in the league (which in turn costs us even more money).

Champions League is the only way we'll ever catch up with the top teams and to get top four we need no Europa (Citeh and Spurs playing no euro games certainly helped their cause this year).

I know some have this "we must win something" fixation -- well so do I ... and I think we have a better chance of winning a domestic Cup if we're not playing so many meaningless Euro games. Top four can lead to more money if we make the group stages which in turn increases our chances of winning something.

We have enough Euro experience now -- losing one year won't erase it all. Plus, aside from co-efficiency to get a better draw, it's possible the experience factor is overrated. Look at Fulham. They are simply not a better football team than us in any respect yet they got further. I think a lot more of Europa is luck of the draw and just "going on a run" than most people believe.

Nobody give me that "so you want us to miss out on Europe so we can qualify for Europe" bollocks either. One competition can lose a team money; the other gives you 30 million for the group stages. They are not the same "Europe" in any respect.

So my vote is RS lose and we miss out -- best of both worlds!
