What do you expect our net spend to be?

Feels like the first time in years we had a few players we can get rid of who we don’t depend on too much. Can see us selling McNeil, Iroegbunam, Alcaraz and Patterson to raise some funds (hopefully about £30/40m).

I'd be surprised if we see anywhere near a net spend of last summer's size.

Last 3 seasons have had them in European positions, which is helpful when trying to attract good players. Also, Eddie does not have the sole say in signings as they have a DoF. Everton, however have no tactical identity. Each and every manager we appoint has their own style of play and players in mind that suit that style of play. New managers coming in are at risk of having a squad of players not suited to their play style. I feel like we end up hitting the same obstacles every year.

last summer with his nephew or someone in his family.

That's why it was so rushed and tits up as their plans got messed up.

It’s going to be difficult for the Board to explain away a net spend of around 40-50 if that happens this summer when the new stadium has increased our revenues by circa 50m to 60m a year regardless of new regs.
