That's where I seen him too mate he was superb wasn't he. I love Grant Lee Phillips but felt Dickensons set was better tbh. Great album and you know what, I think I'll stick it on now ;)

Yeah he really was. I got Ready the Horses and Lonesome Traveler, both for 20 quid and signed which was not a bad deal at all! Spoke to him for a while too and he seemed a really nice fella.

He reminds of Gram Parsons sound wise.

Gutted he is doing support for Don McLean as I am away the day they are in Liverpool.

Yeah mate I seen that he was supporting Don McLean too. Like you said, he was a genuinely nice down to earth man willing to have a chat about all things music wasn't he. Same with Grant, always happy for a picture and a chat.

Yeah Grant was brilliant. I waffled on about seeing GLB 20 odd years ago in Liverpool Uni and I was annoyed that he didn't sign my ticket afterwards when the rest of the band did (He didn't come out from backstage to be fair!). I was only joking but he was all apologetic and starting signing everything of mine that was in the general vicinity to make up for it!

First time I have been the Phil's music room too, was a nice little venue, really laid back.

Someone at the gig said apparently he was really shy up until about 10 years ago and then started coming out after the gigs to chat and sign things. I seen him at Leaf a couple of years ago and he was absolutely immense, it was a mesmerising performance, each song accompanied by a story and he just asked the crowd after every song what would they like to hear.

Him and Jarred and Claire were in the Phil pub across the road before the gig so got to have a chat with them beforehand and he was as chilled as anything.

I think it's the best venue in the city, I've got 2 gigs there next month and 1 in June, that'll be 10 this year, including GLP.
