What are you currently listening to?

Just done it in now on your rec. Nice album, didn't knock me out the way the last one did, that might be cos I was already a bit underwhelmed by "Can't do without you"

Our Love and Julia Brightly are my standouts on first listen.

Vinyl came with a mixtape CD as well, will give that a listen on the way down to Cornwall this weekend. Happy daze.
I love "Can't Do Without You", and I like most of the songs on the album. I've listened to it a good few times now though, and I think overall I prefer it to "Swim".

Yesterday evening I went to Anathema's gig of their Distant Satellites tour. It was, without the flicker of a doubt, the best concert I've ever been to, and I do tend to go to quite a few. It wasn't a particularly long one, but the two hours they played were energetic and emotional throughout. All the members except for Danny Cavanagh, who was unusually resigned throughout the evening, produced their utmost best on the stage. They got the crowd go crazy, everyone went nuts from early on and was screaming the lyrics (like myself :p ). It was a sold out show at this yacht in Budapest, not a big venue, but a compact one with spot on amplification and atmosphere.

At the end of the gig, as they are from Liverpool themselves, they put Twist and Shout from the Beatles on and even got a few people in the first rows to sing it along into the microphone, so the whole crowd was listening to that. :D Vincent Cavanagh even dove into the crowd for some crowd surfing.

It was an evening to remember for a very long time. It was pure perfection.

Here he is! :D

Me and the girl went to see the Mingus Big Band at Ronnie Scott's last night and it was a privilege to be in the same room as them cats. They finished with a twenty minute barnstorming unrehearsed version of this.

Can't wait for their return next year. In the meantime, if you're in New York on any Monday evening, seek them out.

An oldie (2005)...but I am sat here on a grey Labour Day and recalled this : Sunshine makes me feel better...go to 1.25 in to get the gig, and then listen to the whole song...@bluebud ?

Crazy P are Nottingham's finest (and I don't want to hear a 'damned by faint praise' GOT refrain lol)
