And got lucky because they went down to 10 men against a team that featured six defensive outfield players. We weren't playing United, City, Chelsea or Arsenal, yet we fielded SIX defensive outfield players against West Ham. West. ****ing. Ham. Barkley and Vellios on the bench. Negative selection. And I'll stand by that all day long.

We created as much today with those six defensive players as we've done with much more attacking lineups though.

Credit to the players. I still think it was an unduly negative team selection. With Neville in central midfield.
And be honest, until that bogus red card to Cole, we appeared headed for another draw.
It's all about opinions and today, my opinion is that we set out our team to play for a point.

Even against eleven men Jelavic and Distin both missed sitters, Vic scored one and Osman had a good goal disallowed. I think we'd have won it even with Cole still on the pitch, to be honest.

On paper the team looked defensive and useless, I agree, but given that on the actual pitch we had the best of the game surely that means me and you misjudged the selection and it wasn't actually as terrible as it looked.

Great win, but Heitinga played really bad and my fav player Jelavic wasted 2 great chances, but Pienaar,Osman played great,
Gibson,Baines,Jagielka,Vic and Distin very good, we won again after going down 0-1!!
Haven't been very confident seeing team sheet but happy with the win, expect Barkley/Naismith in first 11 for next game.
Now to win next 2 home games and claim 4th before year ends!!
And the ref should be fined and suspended for 3 games

O_o What is wrong with these refs?

I thought everyone had a good game apart from Anichebe and Jeli. Chebes was back to flopping on the ground and only showed flashes of strength. Granted he did superbly with his goal. You can see that Jeli is working really hard but he was just awful. I don't understand how two strikers can put in a performance like that and not get subbed early.

Pienaar and Osman really took over the game, they're both really exciting to watch.

Just like to say we have 30pts before Christmas.

We have had more decisions cost us points than gave us points.

We have been having an ongoing injury issue that has meant we have never allowed us to have a settled side.

Most seasons with these injuries and decisions we would be doing well to be above 20pts

30 points was the magic target before new years to be competitive for Europe - we're in bonus point territory now till the half way mark, excellent foundation to tackle the back nine of the season!

6 points from the next two games and Champions League is on, just. We're below the points you'd want at this point in the season.

Understand what you're saying mate. The good thing is, all of the teams around us have similar points totals. Bad thing is they will all spend. Frustrating thing is we should have at least 10 points more, either due to sloppy defending or bad luck with refs.

We just need to keep on winning, thats all we can do!
