West Ham reduce ticket prices

West Ham have become the first club to announce they will reduce season ticket prices as a result of the Premier League's record television deal.

Sky and BT Sport have paid £5.13bn for live Premier League television rights for three seasons from 2016-17.

West Ham's cheapest adult season ticket in that season will cost £289, down from between £620 and £940 for the 2014-15 campaign.

Subsidised prices from a club receiving probably the greatest gift from the public purse any sporting club has ever received!

Let's not forget that WHU have only payed 2.5 Kones (£15m in English) for a 99 year lease, are paying £2m a year in rent for a stadium that cost the tax payer £429 million initially and whose reconstruction has been funded by £60m from Central Government, £40m from Newham Council and £20m from LLDC. In addition the GLA through Boris Johnson have contributed another £25 million.
