West ham fans - confront the board on the pitch

The deal was sold to them that knocking down Upton Park and moving to the London Stadium would catapult the club into a different beast; able to attract quality, top end players, targeting Europe as regulars, and being the "go to" London club globally.

I doubt one West Ham fan wanted to leave Upton Park, but the dream sold to them was a good pitch by Brady.

But the recruitment has been dreadful, the ground is awful, and they are flirting with relegation. I can kind of get where they are coming from.

Is that it? Jesus christ, that's an over reaction. That's similar to martinez saying "I'll get you champions league football" to us. Don't see us stealing corner flags etc.

Thought they must be facing liquidation or something. They're not as good as they think they are, that's the problem and they're silly to believe they'd be European regulars after a couple of Windows.

But of course we'll learn from all these mistakes...

I have more of a personal view on this situation, because I'm probably one of the few, if any, on here who has had direct face to face contact with Messrs. Gold and Sullivan. Many years ago they ran are large video distribution wholesaling company (called Gold Star, from memory) .This was not one of their 'glamour' enterprises but sold ordinary movies and cartoons. I had a bad year(82 I think) and went down to that there Lahndahn to confront various creditors, EMI, Rank, etc. Because of the Gold/Sullivan reputation, which was entirely based on hearsay,I was more nervous about meeting them than any of the others. I have to say that they treated me better than anyone, they took time to understand my situation, were encouraging, and promised that they would give me time to sort my problem(which they did...unlike a few others I could name). They were in fact inspiring, and my meeting with them proved to be a turning point for me, giving me just the leeway I needed. A couple of nice guys, both football mad even then, and they have genuinely put more of their own personal money into West Ham than most owners. Their own actual money.
Football supporters have a right to protest if they do not think their club is being run correctly, but equally, everyone, from the youngest kid to 82 year old owners, must be allowed to attend matches in safety, and there is a line were intimidation becomes actual threat.
The majority of football supporters are able to treat losing with dignity, but a crazy minority ,who usually have another agenda, will eventually spoil it for everyone if they are not rooted out and kept away from matches...for life if necessary.

The reasons behind it all are the key for me, just what are they.
I caught the 606 pod cast and one guy went on about 'broken promises' and statements of intent, albeit on twitter...
I get the point that the ground is gash.
So what are the beefs - lay them out please
Following on from @roydo, the crux of the matter is that they feel the owners have consistently failed to produce the promises that they made.

The London stadium has been great business for the cash-cow owners, whereas it hasn't fulfilled the criteria of being a 'football' stadium.

From that, the owners have shown very little tolerance or communication with the fan base, further exacerbating their feelings of poor ownership.

Then there's the poor transfer record with arguably a low net-spend, which has contributed to consistently poor results on the pitch.

all sounds abit ominous this ^^

*Gulps

They shouldn't have appointed Moyes as coach. If the team was doing a bit better the fans would be less inclined to invade the pitch during a match.

They have some good players in the squad. A more imaginative manager could get a tune out of them.

West Ham fans are weird. They’ve been a yo-yo club forever, it’s what they are...what exactly are their fans expecting ? Why so mad now ? You’ve always been turd.

Because, for a brief moment, they got a taste...then James McCarthy kissed Payet and what could've happened to us with the Tesco Dome, happened to them. Being a yo-yo club with highly suspect ownership has combined for a swift left hook to the jaw and the knockout is currently happening in slow motion. Right now is the point where you see all the sweat exploding off their head as the punch lands. Will they make the count? Stay tuned.

Gold was asked in that interview about how a lot of old businesses, which had relationships with the club for years, around the old Boleyn Ground have died off since the move. That's another reason fans are upset with him and Sullivan, the whole of that area has basically been left to go down the toilet and it's not nice to see. Basically said in reply to this that he doesn't give a toss.

They don't owe anyone a living but bloody hell and it's not their fault there's no investment from the council but bloody hell it shows they really don't understand the community of their core fanbase to dismiss an emotional subject like that so boldly. Shows what horrible Tory lizards they are.
