Nil Satis ‘n’ all that
Lads,

It is with great pride (and also some embarrassment) that I can tell you that I am, finally, making my first trip to our beloved Goodison. Despite following the Toffees for some 33 years I have never managed to make the trip up to Liverpool (I have gone to some away games down here though). However, a mate at work down here in the South is also a Blue and got me a ticket for the game.
It's probably a stupid question...but where is a good pub near the ground for a pre-match pint or two?

Cheers.

Thanks MG.
I take it that is your local?? Where is it (you better put it in idiots terms as I haven't been anywhere near Goodison before....)
Thanks mate.

Its more for after the game, when your a bit lubed, ya know with the drinking.

I dont drink personally mate.

I know a few lids go the Thomas Frost which is on County Road, how you getting to the ground, cos theres different places depending on which way your coming from, im sure the drinkers will give you a better idea, but you should defo check out The Lisbon after the game, its always bouncing in there.

Ok, thanks mate. I think we are coming in to Lime Street station (I had volunteered to drive up but my mate decided to book train tickets so that he could drink on the way up!).
I assume that we will walk from the station up towards the ground.

Your probably best jumping a taxi, think its a decent hike from Lime Street mate, but hopefully some lids will give you some watering holes, I know a few people go The Brick.

Ok, cool. Taxi it is then and I'll tell my mate that we should head to the Brick and try the Lisbon afterwards for a couple before getting on a train south again with a load of, hopefully, p**sed off West Ham fans. That should be fun.

Anywhere on county road. Isn't that pub by Goodison re-opening tomorrow? I imagine that would be decent.

I don't drink whatsoever though so pubs are all the same to me. Find nothing special about the Oak

Sack drinking around the ground mate, especially the brick, can't move, stinks and you have to put up the little toad stool who runs the gaff

Personally I stay in town until around twenty to three and jump in a taxi, straight in the game, happy days, plenty of pubs in town just take your pick

Thanks for all your replies lads....seems I have some thinking to do.
Looking forward to it though......just wished I lived closer so I could come along all the time. Hopefully tomorrow it won't pour with rain all day and we'll win nicely! That'll make it a great day.
