On the JJK point while I Hope the lad makes it the difference in class between him and Wan Bissaka is obviousI think this is true. I also think we may only see the best of this side in 2 years time.
What we have struggled to do, post Moyes is bring teams together and hold teams together. The fact we didn't really develop Stones, Barkley, Lukaku & Deulofeu from Martinez's 2nd season was a big opportunity missed. I sense the fella we have now will be more adept at doing this, and will not let opportunities pass him by.
I think you are right on Richarlinson too. He might go this summer. However we have to get over the idea it's automatically a bad thing. The sale of Lukaku would have given us the funds to recruit most of the lads of this summer. If we sell Richarlinson on for double, possibly treble what we bought him for, then happy days. We will have top young players cuing up to join us on that basis. While we've missed Lukaku, I wouldn't pay 100 million to have him back. We misused the money. That won't happen now. If we have to sell the odd big player every season or 2, I'm happy with that, providing we buy well.
It's worth noting Pickford signed a 6 year deal very easily. There was not even much shock amongst our fans or the wider media. It's a big shift that for me. If you are one of the lads you mention above, and you can see a talented group of younger players around you, and a very good coach, why would you be pushing to go. Especially the lads like Mina/Gomes who have had that next step and seen it doesn't always work out?
On Saturday as well the average age of the team that started was under 26, the one that ended was around 24.5. It's a very young squad. Walcott will lose his pace, but he remains a very clever footballer, with great movement, a good attitude to working back and who remains a good finisher for me. Sigurdssons game, for all it's faults is not based on pace. It's about intelligence and technique. Neither of those things will decline any time soon.
Coleman is probably a slightly different story. However I think a lot of his issue is poor form at the moment not age. I do think he might be the next Jagielka, as a club captain who goes into the background a little but acts as a good club man. There is a question as to whether Kenny can be the man to replace him.

I think if we are going to replace Coleman then Wan Bissaka’s level is what we need to be aiming for

Hopefully he can get someone from the continent / South America of the same profile and quality as Wan BissakaI am unfortunately probably of a similar opinion to you. I think JJK probably lacks the physical attributes, however he has kicked on this season and it has to be our hope he continues too. If he does then there is a chance he can fill the void.
My gut feeling is, if Coleman's form doesn't pick up before January, then Brands may well look for a Digne/Tierney type solution at right back.
Hopefully he can get someone from the continent / South America of the same profile and quality as Wan Bissaka
My sons partners family are all Palace STH and I go to the Palace away game every year ( great weekend of football and beer ) and the have been raving about him for a while
They think he will go next summer but for big money but they can’t see Hodgson selling in January as they will be in the mix ( but should be safe) for relegation
I'd literally never heard of Wan Bissaka before yesterday, now apparently he's better than Coleman and we should be signing him
Me either, but he put in a top shift, a six footer with pace to burn. I think people are more saying he’d be a good Coleman replacement, and I can see why on that evidence.

For several years the chatter around me as I left the ground after a Swansea visit was that their centre half was a rock and how we wouldn’t mind having him here.
We got our wish in the end.
My point is that I for one am not getting carried away about the performance of a fellow whom I never even knew existed prior to Sunday......because we have been there before![]()
This is all great and everything but when Richarlison has his turned by Madrid next summer it’s game over.
Hopefully he can get someone from the continent / South America of the same profile and quality as Wan Bissaka

No chance of Richarlison going to Madrid next summer. 35M fee rising to 50M fee last summer. We'd want +75M if he can produce decent performances over an entire season.
I'm not sure Real have that type of money to spend. They haven't bough a player for that type of fee since Bale in 2013 (James R was a bit less then 75M after the 2014 World Cup). If they do spend that type of fee then they'd want someone with commercial appeal. As good a player as Richarlison may be, I just don't a Madrid President or their fans getting excited about signing him. He probably has very little commercial appeal for the far east or South America. He'd need to have an amazing World Cup, or maybe Copa America, before they'd take notice of him.
Overall that's why I think we could keep the team together for a while. The risk of players going is not from Real or Barcelona, it's from the Top 6 in this country. That's were the money is. At the moment I think it is a low risk of losing any players to the Top 6. Richarlison, Mina, Bernard, Digne, Davies have the pedigree and talent to eventually be coveted by the Top 6. All need to prove themselves in this league though. Got to make sure we are in the Top 6 by that point otherwise we'll have issues keeping them.
Good reply i was not trying to be rude just a bit of fun.It comes with great difficulty I'm afraid buddy!
