walking pads

Been considering one for a while now for the old home office, but I’m not supposed to WFH too much anymore so dropped off the ‘urgent’ list. The Mrs who WFH two days per week has recently piped up about them again though.

Saw one on kick starter that I thought would be perfect- then saw the price 🫣

Are walking pads worth it?

Was it the most scintillating walk I'd ever been on? No. However, over the three weeks, I found the walking pad to be a convenient way to get 10,000 steps in at home. I could multitask with work for a few minutes at a time and ease my daily stress through movement, without having to go outside to battle the elements, which became a welcome opportunity as the weather started to turn.

The missus used one for several months as exercise. I never saw the point other than it have me a half hour window not to watch crap on tv. She now has horrendous issues with an achilles tendon. Her physio pointed out that walking fast is terrible for that, compared with running or walking slowly.

Make if that what you will.

I bought one in the summer with the intention of keeping up my regular daily step count through the winter. I've used it twice for about 10 minutes. I've decided it's just easier to be fat & lazy in the winter.

Wanna buy a walking pad mate? Barely used. From a smoke and pet free house (apart from the dog, he's a pet but he doesn't smoke).
