2025/26 Vitalii Mykolenko

Tbh I find it really difficult to dislike Myko personally. I think he’s always tried his best with us, and at times in those relegation run ins he really dug in for us and put in some big defensive performances. He’s also nearly always available which given we can’t be arsed ever buying a proper left back is a useful quality.

It’s not his fault he’s just not very good. I genuinely think he tries his best but hits his limit.

It’s a world of difference for me from Keane Tarkwoski Gana McNeil who can all play much better than they do but just wander out like a load of dozy muppets who can’t pay attention for more than 2 seconds without cocking up.

We shouldn’t have renewed him, and it just shows the club isn’t serious about moving forward. I just find it hard to hate Myko.

Some reach this to suggest Gana “wanders about”

If he is back up ok…but he simply wouldn’t start for most of the premier league!

Yes he can defend ok, but he offers absolutely nothing going forward.

I’d rather keep beto/barry and spend the money on a really good LB/RB

I’m not fan of moyes but surely he realises he can’t be starting LB next year

Gana is so overrated on here it baffles me. His performance in the first half of the Anfield Derby and the Chelsea home game were absolutely woeful. He chases the ball around like an under 18 player except because he’s 36 he gets nowhere near it. Teams often play it round then get to the edge of our box and he wins it back on about the third phase of play and our fans reckon it’s a great interception. He’s caused the entire situation through just being slow and completely positionally undisciplined. He makes so many errors on the ball as well it’s an absolute joke.

We’re going nowhere with him in the team, absolutely nowhere.

Why would you 'hate' any Everton player?

If you're a fan, you should want every player to do well - it's kind of the point.

There's fans on here who can't wait for players to make a mistake.

They'd rather be right about a player than see us do well.

Yet are often much worse when he doesn’t play.

I think comparing his effort to that of McNeil was a big insult tbh, the guy has been a terrific servant to the club over 2 spells.

You’ve had a shocker here, mate.

The whole 'a few years ago we'd be praying for a season like this' that even I have thought in the past are starting to truly wear quite thin now, these decisions in a vacuum, of him being our starter next year will just end up being the same season of non progress other than a couple extra quid in the bank.

Now if we sign a left back and he's a backup to shore up games I'd be more than happy for that, he's relatively solid defensively.
