Well, that's a management problem, not a player problem, as you suggest. No problem with him getting a new contract if he's our backup and it's protecting the 'asset' so to speak, but last summer we had the same conversation about Keane and he became one of our main CBs all season. I just don't trust the management anymore.
He’ll absolutely start 30+ games next season. Keane probably will too.No problem with him getting a new contract if he's our backup and it's protecting the 'asset' so to speak, but last summer we had the same conversation about Keane and he became one of our main CBs all season. I just don't trust the management anymore.
Or we could just trigger the 1 year extension and sell him. Bring in a full back that can play football.27, played in 140 PL matches, one year left on his deal. Of course he'd be offered a new contract, if only to hold his value.
And those who don't think he has financial value, I will just point you to the case of McNeil, Dwight.
Boyland's article said we are searching for cover at LB.Hopefully he’s back up.
We’ve been doing that since the “reset” and again now with Keane, Tarks and now Myko.
They should have all been moved on or let go last summer following the takeover.
McNeil will prob get an extension ffs.
He'll be playing regularly under dino Davey. Why wouldn't he? He cannot control a football, has no pace, can't go forward, and is lauded for a defensive ability that sees him often at fault for conceding soft goals.27, played in 140 PL matches, one year left on his deal. Of course he'd be offered a new contract, if only to hold his value.

It takes a while to overhaul a squad, mate. I agree they are all players that SHOULD be moved on, but the practicalities have meant that we've sort have had to keep them on.
