He is what he is. Excellent at some things, terrified of trying other things. If Moyes told him to bomb forward and he keeps refusing, we’d have seen Branthwaite at LB and Keane in the middle. I think managers are much more comfortable with players like him than fans are.

Coming to the end of his time here it seems. Was possibly the right player for the last few years, part of a defensive group that kept us up. This season he should have been 2nd choice LB as we move forward. Leave the lad alone.

Im amazed we havent extended his contract. At the very least it protects his value as an asset and enables us to bring a fee for him.

He can go as far as I'm concerned, so so poor in possession that it hinders our whole left side.

He's also not as impressive defensively as people say imo, he benefits from being so conservative that he's not caught out of position and his passing is invariably safe and backwards. He does occasionally do a good lock down job on the likes of Salah.

He was a willing runner yesterday and i will never doubt his commitment but it would be one of the first positions i'd be looking at in the summer. We won't see the best out of this team until we bring in fullbacks who are comfortable in possession.
