2022/23 Vitalii Mykolenko

Wasn't involved at all today but I think the match up and system didn't help him, it wasn't because of lack of desire from him

Listened to talkSPORT earlier and a Villa fan was on talking about Digne. Said we had robbed them of £25m and he would much rather have Matt Targett.

I think Myko will be fine, not sure he has ever played wing back before so needs a bit of time.

Solid enough left back. Not attack-minded enough for the wing back role. Wonder if the plan is eventually to have Vinagre as first choice, with Myko an option as a third left-sided centre back or first choice lb if we revert to a back 4.
The one thing I like about this possibility is that we can choose from Vinagre, Nkounkou and McNeil at LWB. So Mykolenko can play LCB full-time, and the other two CB positions can be manned by Holgate, Godfrey, Coady and Tarkowski...

So we can punt Keane.

I'd happily keep Nkounkou. I'd happily play McNeil at LWB. I'd do either of those things if it meant we could get rid of Mick Keane.

If we’re going to continue with wingbacks then Vinagre needs to play and Myko needs to move into LCB. Just not good enough for me going forward. Vinagre may not be the best answer but he has pace and can offer way more in attack

Very much coming around to this line of thinking.

I hope Frank tries it against Fleetwood. Myko at LCB with Vinagre starting as the LWB.
