Victor Anichebe - what can we expect?

Well, there are two things there. One is that Jelavic doesn't get full support, far from it. The other is that, if he did, you'd suggest it is because he's white and Vic's black. Quite a claim.

Anyway, WBA fans: sorry, Vic's nowhere near as good as Lukaku. If he stays fit you might get a 10 goal a season striker who puts in three or four decent shifts a season.

OK let me rephrase it, Jelavic gets nowhere near the stick that Vic gets, despite being a far less effective player than him on the pitch.

I will leave others to judge the reasons for that contrast.

Everton fans are tainted by years of him not fulfilling his potential.

But look at his last two seasons. When he's played, he's either scored, created goals for others or just caused all-round mayhem for defenders. He's as strong as anyone in the league and now uses that strength effectively. He's shown a lot more composure in front of goal and perhaps alongside another striker might add more goals to his game, or at least more goals to theirs.

His attitude in my opinion was often a product of frustration -- whenever he built up some form he'd get a bad injury. The Nolan tackle was the worst of the bunch -- the pr*ck had Vic out of action for a year. But he seems to have mellowed and puts in a far better shift.

I'd really have rather kept him, and even as a fan of Kone would rather have Vic as he's only 24. He splits opinions but you're getting 2013 Victor, not 2010 Victor, so I think you're getting a good deal. I wish him and you well.

Are you saying that followers of Everton sometimes dress up as ghosts in the weekend and set fire to crosses??

Better than people here are letting on.

Will never score you 15-20 goals a season but if he keeps his head right he is a massive impact sub to throw on when opposition defenders start to tire. Usually he manages to roll a defender and score/create something.

6 mil is too much for him considering he´s not someone who´s good enough to be a starter for you but he´ll be an asset coming off the bench.

Bit surprised we got rid of him. Would much rather have sold you Jelavic.

How good is Clarke as a manager at handling players could well determine how good he will be . Last season he played against Newcastle and played really well , banging in a superb goal . Then very shortly afterwards was dropped when jelavic I think returned to fitness . His confidence gets shot and he just seems to go backwards . Like to see him do well, a change of club might be the spring board

I think he'll be a decent signing. He never felt liked by the Evertonians, but last year that started to change and he was much improved and many would say he was our best striker before we loaned Lukaku. I think that with backing from the supporters and regular first team football he will come good and probably score 10+. £6m won't buy you very much in terms of goal scorers nowadays, but Vic has potential if nothing else. At 25 though, he should really be starting to fulfil it

At least 10 of the following 17 things will happen when he's on the pitch, even if he's a sub in the 80th minute.

Ball to feet, turn and shoot, off target

Ball to feet, turn and shoot, defender blocks

Ball to feet, turn and shoot, keeper saves

Ball to feet, turn and shoot, scores

Ball to feet, turn and fall over

Ball to feet, defender knicks ball

Ball to feet, turn and moan

Ball to feet, thinks he's fouled looses the ball and sulks

Ball to fall over

Whine

Whinge

Moan

Groan

Complain

Sulk

Fist smash grass ANICHEBE MAD!!!

And not forgetting the all time classic Anichebe toys out of the pram special... Throw arms in the air and nearly dislocate a shoulder.

He's awesome in Europe though, so if you get there he'll do well.

Being honest, we have only seen fleeting glimpses of the player he could be, and he could be a very good player. If he had developed to the level he is capable of, and performed to the level consistantly, you would be paying a lot more than £6m for him, so for that reason, I think you have got him for a good price.

Over the last 2 years he has matured as a player and has arguably been our best all round forward player in that time, but quite honestly, I think in the minds of some, he was always gonna be the stroppy 19-20 year old he was a few years back.

He was unfortunate in that he came through with his best mate, James Vaughan, who the fans loved as he was fast, exciting and gave 100%, 100% of the time, while Vic was a different type of player, a foil for Vaughan if you will, and at that point, was still growing. You only need to see him now, compared to a couple of years ago to see how he has physically changed. Vaughan still looks the same as when he broke through.

So he was never a fans favourite, and was always "The other 1", and for that reason, he was never truly appreciated. That led to him developing a bit of a sulky attitude, and after he asked for a transfer a few years back, turning down a new contract, and asking for a ridiculous pay rise, a lot of the fans who already didn't like him, went off him more, and he's had an uphill battle since.

He has all the tools to develop into a fantastic player, but honestly, i don't think it was gonna happen for us, and a change is good for all 3 parties.

He is capable of a lot, and I for 1, hope he really becomes that player for you. i wish him all the luck in the world.

P.S. You could do worse than trying to partner him again with Vaughan. Always thought the two of them would be great together for someone.

Apart from his name being spelt incorrectly, what can we expect from him?

What are his strengths and weaknesses?

Quite looking forward to seeing him in action, although I feel quite deflated the fact we lost someone else but I also believe we've paid over the odds for him. Hopefully, in the long run, it might prove to be some good business.

Good luck with the remainder of the season - here's hoping "the fridge" (christ knows why we named him that) shoves a few past the red side of the city!!

I think he suffers from a lack of confidence which can take a further dent during a match as miscontrols a ball. His first touch is among the worst i've ever seen, it's comically bad at times.

But he's quick and strong and he's got a decent shot on him. Despite the celebrations on here over getting £6m for him, the fact is; £6m doesn't get you much of a striker these days {see Kone (maybe)}.

Even if he's a bit of a failure you'd probably be able to get £2 - £3m from the likes of Birmingham or Wigan so it should be fairly risk free.
