The problem isn’t the technology, it’s the incompetence of those viewing it.

Just watching Villa v Man U. Penalty given to ManU, clearly no contact (other than the ManU player stepping over the ball & standing on the defender). Ridiculous decision.
I was certain it would be overturned & maybe even a card for the ManU player....., No.

It's not incompetence mate it's pure corruption

It's just amazing to me how bad it has gone. No other league has this many screw ups from the reviews. Maybe sometimes close ones are controversial but there are zero people arguing for example that Fernandes got fouled. That's like the 10th one this year like that.

Might be over the top but it's genuinely one of the worst calls I've seen. Fair enough in real time you can argue it looks a foul but then the fact we have brought in technology designed with the specific purpose of correcting decisions and it's instead used to both keep the status quo and not to expose our horrendous officials says everything.

That's because other leagues tend to follow the actual guidelines that FIFA set out in how to implement VAR. We've decided to put our own spin on it and it's led to FIFA stepping in from next season.

On MOTD they've said the PGMOL have admitted Southampton's penalty v us, Man U's penalty v Villa, and Spurs' ungiven penalty v Bournemouth were all wrong decisions.
A f'up in every game is unacceptable. This is the Premier League for god's sake. Standards must be higher.

This would be flipping unacceptable if it had just been the onfield officials who screwed it up. But they reviewed these decisions from several camera angles and still came back with the wrong decision. It's hard to justify how that could be anything but intentional. If not everyone should be fired. Find all new officials because that's a freaking joke.

Collina is the most bent ref of them all, and I'm sure FIFA isn't the cleanest organisation going, but if FIFA taking over means that at least there will be some consistency on the use of VAR, then it cannot be any worse than the actual shitshow we currently have.

VAR is yet another reason why this season should have a massive * next to it in the history books - it's the biggest sham going, and the * Shampions over the park suit it to a tee.
