Need a manager in place though to start work. It's not just picking the team, got to put a lot of groundwork in and perfect time to do it is in june, before the l squad come back. Got to watch the players back in training, work out transfers needed, quite a bit to do actually.

The longer into June we wait, the harder that becomes to do quickly which will delay any work on the team into July and potentially first choice signings go elsewhere then.

Players wont be back in training for another month or so.

As long as we get the right manager signing players won't be a problem.

Take the extremes, Simeone and Moyes...the two most wanted and least wanted. Any club that appoints Simeone will have agents pestering his club trying to get their players to work with him.

David Moyes, although his fallout with Evertonians is really about off the field issues and has a decent record in the transfer market, will simply not have the same appeal for agents or players.

Managers like Emery and I think Koeman , Mancinin, Pellegrini all have enough pedigree or profile to attract players.

It's after that it becomes a problem.

Sign him. Don't sign. But sign someone FFS. Short summer in terms of preparations.

We're better taking our time and getting the right man for the job, rather than signing up the first manager who wants it.

Seems clear that Moshiri is keeping our options open.

Have a little faith and patience.

Exactly. If that was the case de boer would have been installed 10 days ago. We have got to be patient and hope moshiri gets his man.

Aye but the new manager won't just walk on on his first day to the training ground. Loads of work needs to be done to get everything sorted for the pre season.

I mean we currently have one game in it so far!

...I quite like the fact he wasn't a noted player, I think he played most of his career in lower divisions. It means he's made his name as a coach and not had a helping hand that top players often have.

It seems that Moshiri is actively pursuing him. Emery is used to working with a Director of Football, so I wonder if he'll require/need a DoF as part of the package or whether it's actually attractive to him to have more control than he's had in the past .

A bit like Moyes and Martinez then?
