Transfer Rumour Tyler Dibling

Another high in that rating, we definitely want that profile.

For reference, OBV stands for on-ball value and is basically a weighted metric for how much a player moves the needle towards their team scoring and away from conceding. Basically, how actually dangerous their passes or dribbles are - think for example along the lines of how much do they move the ball from a non-dangerous area into a dangerous area.

The screenshot above is from less than halfway through the season, but he pretty much maintained this output through the rest of the season too:

Long story short the kid does outrageous things with the ball at his feet, but needs to learn to add end product to it.

End product is what we actually need.

End product is what we actually need.
I mean obviously we need end product to some extent, everybody does at the end of the day. I don't really agree with the 'we need somebody who's going to produce right now' shouts though. We're obviously not going to immediately gatecrash the top 4, and as long as we add a a few more decent players to beef the squad up you'd hope we'd have enough about us not to go down. So why do we need people who are going to produce great numbers immediately? Surely it's better to bring players in who give us a chance of building a genuinely good side over the next couple of years rather than spending a load of money bringing someone like Grealish in for one year to help us finish 9th instead of 11th.

Agree but that's not just a problem isolated to Dibling though. Aznou and any other younger player we sign needs better support than we've given previously to young senior players. Lookman isn't exactly a player averse to moving around or prone to homesickness and he hated it here cos we just shoved him in the titanic and left him to crack on *allegedly*

Of course.

Some are more susceptible/won't be as quick to adapt. Aznou is the same age, but been at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, and had a loan spell at Valladolid.

Lookman - totally different situation. Remember, after us he went Leipzig, Fulham and Leicester. He only started to do it at Atalanta.

End product might come with better players around him, always hard in a relegation battling team with a lack of quality forwards to finish chances.

Don't have a clue what the graphs are all about, but if he is a teenager on the right wing that does outrageous things with the ball but no end product, then we have obviously found the next Cristiano Ronaldo.
