Durham Toffee
Shameless Wool
Bear with me for a few moments, then you can start taking the mickey...
Tomorrow marks two years since I became a member of this fine forum. Life was a lot different then for many reasons and I'm sure many of you will know that story, so I won't go into it.
But, over those two years, I've been part of an amazing community whose support, humour, advice, insults, reflections and friendship have gotten me through some horrible times and seen me to some amazing ones.
I'd just like to extend my thanks to you all and to @GrandOldTeam for having such an incredible community as this and keeping it all going.
As a Durham native, I sometimes feel that Everton aren't really mine or that I can't really claim to be as emotionally involved in Scouse life as many here are. Don't always get across to the fair city as much as I'd like to and that can feel disjointed at times.
But, I've never felt that from this forum and I've been welcomed every time I've logged on.
I've supported Everton now for a little over 4 years or so. The 'reason' I supported Everton used to be my wife...but that's not the reason anymore.
I support Everton because this is a club with a fan base and a community that exceeds anything else I'd seen in my 31 years. I've said it a lot recently; there's a modesty, a love, a groundedness, a humility and a strength to our fans that I don't see in others. That is why I support this club now and that is why I always will.
I'd like to thank this community for keeping me true to this club and for giving me a club and a set of fans I can be duly proud of.
Now, you can start calling me a big soft tosspot.
You bellwhiff, blertmunching weapons. (See, I've learned.)
