TV Series

I was getting $25 at Garden Island but dont you (or didnt you) get more if you was a temp cos of holiday pay being in the rate or something ? I'd left a fitting job here on £5.20
Yeah, temp = no holidays or sickpay. Fulltime @$30 = temp @$34.
When...IF, you got you went full time after 3mths 'probation' ...which led to all sorts of cons, as bosses used you as a 'zero hour' worker, but had promised verbally that after 3mths you be kept on. Then on friday arvo you'd get the DCM...don't come monday.
...there was a waiting time while you accrued sick leave and holiday pay. While they had to pay you you holidays if you left, sick pay was use it or lose it. If somebody started taking a raft of sickies, it was mostly a sign they were planning to leave.

As to UK pay rates I left in 1995 and can't remember.
In NZ, wages were 'low' and prices were not, I made (and saved) 4 times as much money from 5yrs in Australia ( no mining either) than I did in 16yrs in NZ.

Anyway back on topic before Mr Mackay from Porridge nab us.*moves off in furtive manner, hiding a ciggie

Cameron Brittain who plays Ed Kemper has stolen the whole series for me.

Considering he was late to acting ( taught kids with special needs ) he`s been a revelation.
Hes superb, its like you can feel the sickness oozing off him when hes on screen, like I said I think the casting has been superb, its a series with no real action,no car chases, gun fights, graphic murders, basically people talking, yet you cant wait to watch the next episode

He`s played the character that well, that I`ve ordered a book on the Co Ed killer.

I`d never heard of him until Mind Hunter.

They`re obviously going to do another, as B.T.K is going to become their full on target at some point.

I had heard of him,I had one of those books about notorious serial killers is the reason why, yeah BTK is pretty obvious from the closing scenes, theres so much material for them to work with it could run for years,BTK didnt get caught until I think early 90s and there were a few inbetween his starting out and getting caught

I was on a decent wack as a fitter/turner in Christchurch but was at PDL & there was only Tate (the electronics company) that paid as much. A previous agency job wasnt so good & was shifts for less than days at PDL. It was $3 to a pound though so coming back the money was worth next to nothing, all that we saved just about paid for us & a container. We saved more in 6 months in Sydney tbh.
