TV Series

stayed up til 3am watching stranger things.

I did not sleep well. fk me that was intense. No spoilers nerds, only on episode 4, the sauna scene was arse clenchingly scary, Billy scares the beejeezus outta me. Great character.

Me and the missus watched the very first episode last night. She'd never heard of it (somehow) and I was really looking forward to it and wasn't sure it'd be her thing. Turns out she enjoyed it way more than me and wanted to watch ep2 straight away but I was ready for bed.

Good but can't help but feel the 80's nostalgia gives it the massive levels of hype it gets. One episode in though so can't really judge.

I thought the first 3/4 episodes were piss poor Bry, finished the season last night.
I absolutely love the show mate, can't say a bad word about it as i dont watch any telly im easily pleased, but there was a bit in one epside

They are all playing the board games, voices breaking all over the places pretending to be kids and i was like this is a bit sad this bit, and they had a big argument outside over that very element which i thought was amazingly well played

First season? Nah - it's really not as nostalgic as it makes you believe, i mean there is not that much nostalgia in the first series iirc. Some elements of 80s, but its hardly Mad Men style nostalgia in my opinion.

It's really patchy. Some bits of it are excellent, but there are long periods in the show where you think "I've seen this done before". It's as if the Duffer brothers take turns to create scenes and one of them is much more imaginative than the other.

Season 2 was terrible, Season 3 is ok though

anyone watched undercover on netflix?

basically its this dutch gary trafficker who goes on holiday of a weekend to a caravan sight in belgium and the police send someone to holiday next door to befriend him. its pretty decent tbh

the subtitles are weird like and you dont really need them but other than that a solid 7/10

Never watched 'life on mars' and Ashes to ashes' the first time around, the box sets have been on catch up so decided to give them a whirl, absolutely brilliant, the final episode had me with a bit of a lump in my throat (and no, the lump wasn't my Ma's tit!) Phillip Glennister was boss, saying that, the whole cast were boss.

The first one was the best, without Keeley Hawes.

Brilliant tv series and I only started to suspect the ending midway through the last episode - emotional.34DA4B55-C818-40B4-A209-36178F01CA25.jpeg

The price of Quatros went through the roof after it

She was tasty in that 80s clobber though Keeley Hawes. Same here mate, I started twigging half way through, I thought the bit were Ray, Chris and Shaz watch their tapes could have been stretched out a tad longer, it was deffo, like you say, emotional, as the credits were rolling I literally put it back to the start and watched it again.

I thought that Daniel Mays was really good as Jim Keats as well.

That Audi was boss, apart from it being red (or was it orange) like! I'm sure the one in the series was something like £25k to buy new back in 1983.

I’d forgotten about Rhys, he was excellent too.

The Audi was frame red. I started looking for one after the series as a restoration project - same as every one else looking at the prices lol

They got everything about the era right.

Including everyone had an ashtray on their desk, smoking in the office, women made the tea ( no offence girls ) and page 3 calendars everywhere

Have been watching some old BBC stuff lately, Blackadder Goes Forth, Fawlty Towers and The Young Ones. Haven’t laughed so much in ages.

It would be a really difficult task due to them not being made on film or digital but I’d definitely buy those series’ again if somehow a HD remaster was possible.

It’s a weird one, as the likes of the Young Ones never got released on dvd and I never remember it getting repeated either, where as other stuff like Monty Python and Ripping Yarns did.
