TV Series

Meh, as zat said nowhere near Gomorrah levels of excellence but definitely watchable, if you don’t mind subtitles.
(The dubbing is comically horrific)

Binge watched Sneaky Pete season 3 on Amazon recently thought it was better than season 2 and on par with season 1.

Up to date with Chernobyl, excellent, for those who are watching I would recommend re-watching the first 15 mins of episode 1, just to see who saw/said what when it all went tits up.
Did exactly that last night regards Chernobyl. Watched the whole episode and for sure, it sets up the finale tonight.
Compelling viewing without a doubt.

Just watched the deadwood finale.

Some moments of the old david milch brilliance and still very watchable, though part of me felt it was two fingers at HBO for making us wait so long for the conclusion, making the cast look like they'd aged 50 years instead of 10 etc.

Still obviously four million times better than game of thrones

The final episode is, in my humble opinion, a master piece and a tribute to the series as a whole. Thoroughly deserving of all the plaudits it will rightfully receive!

More than that, it's a fitting tribute to all those who lived through the nightmare was that Chernobyl and those who suffered because of it.

Gomorrah series 4 - I’m 5 episodes in and it’s fantastic stuff

Nice change to see an episode set in London as well

Patrizia is hot, think I might now prefer her to Jodie Comer

Fantastic viewing. It is a proper drama with no quick pay offs but if you are interested in subject it is compelling.

I did mention after I saw the first episode that I wished they showed the build up to what caused the disaster (but I did say they might eventually go back to), it was rewarding to finally see it play out in the end. As an added plus everyone who sees this episode will be viewed as fully trained operative for an RBMK nuclear reactor in the old Soviet Union. Maybe even slightly over trained...but least it is another string to the bow and something to put on the CV!

Couldn't agree more with your last sentence. A fitting tribute indeed, just a shame that people could be so incompetent to let this happen in the first place.

One of the best series that has been on television. I’d put it up there with The Wire and Band of Brothers.

Although the subject matter is very intellectual, it was presented in a manner that was quite easy for the viewer to understand.

The level of incompetence was worrying, all it seems to impress bosses for promotion. Hopefully something like this can never happen again on the scale of Chernobyl.

Not many people know but a similar incident happened in the North West of England in the 1950s, obviously not on the same scale. A fire in the nuclear reactor.

Absolutely astounding. Never thought I'd see TV that good. Educational and gripping - it should clear up during awards season.

Still can't believe that it's written by the guy who wrote the Scary Movie and Hangover films!

Chernobyl was excellent. It did an incredible job at demonstrating the absolute hell that was unleashed, and how much worse it was because people did not know to fear it. Incomprehensible danger, like that 'Bridge of Death'. Things that wouldn't be out of place in a sci-fi novel actually happened and killed thousands.

While it clearly shows how messed up the USSR was, I can't help but think of the divers, miners and workers and their officers who did not hesitate in sending them to their deaths without protest. I don't think any other country in the world could have done what needed to be done to stop the disaster getting worse. It took a unique type of strength that could only exist in the Soviet people.

Just caught the last chernobyl..

Oh my word.
Takes TV to a new level.

I hope they make many more series about disasters that are truly gripping and educational at the same time

It's right up there with the best that's for sure
Thought the same thing. I would like to see one made about the Tokyo sarin gas attack.

Chernobyl was absolutely spellbinding.
The finale was a brilliant piece of tv and a credit to the makers of the mini series that like many have mentioned, it managed to get over to the viewers complex matters that could be understood.
A landmark production that sets the standard for future programmes.
Particularly poignant was the end credits particularly with Sky News running interviews with survivors of the miners during the day.
In all a fitting tribute to the 31 people that died as a result of the disaster.
