Just started watching the Detectorists, gentle easy going comedy about of all things a bunch of nerds in a metal detecting club and I found it excellent and very funny. It's stars include two actors of superb theatrical breeding, Toby Jones, eldest son of Freddie Jones and Rachel Stirling daughter of Diana Rigg.

It is written immaculately by Mackenzie Crook of Pirates of the Caribbean fame who also takes the lead as an odd jobber, hippie style lay about dreamer. He is shacked up with RS, she is a teacher at the local school and his landlady. Toby Jones, who is a brilliant actor despite looks and shape, never known him in a bad thing.

Its well worth a watch and a second series has been put into production,

It was a great watch. Different from the usual dross, and anything with Diana Rigg's genes in is fine by me

Probably common knowledge but hey... Emma Peel was so named because she had 'M(an) Appeal'. It was on a documentary about the programme years ago.

Honor Blackman Linda Thorsen and Joanna Lumley all top totty but Riggs rear end was divine and I'm normally a breast man

Just brilliant, the best series so far, it could have fizzled out at the end of series two but it got even better.

Started to like Micky for like half the season then the last few episodes started to hate him again. Good character though

He's one sly fella but his character is top notch .

Micky is a truly hilarious and absorbing character that you can't take your eyes off.
