2nd comment down no child under 16 is to be left alone st nighttime..... toddlers totally forbidden....
That's guidance not a hard and fast rule - the law is very much on a case by case basis on this, and is reliant on proving that the child was left in a manner likely to cause harm.

(Not saying I don't agree with your stance, just that the law isn't black and white on the issue)

Watched a few of the McCann documentary and echo what has been said in here, leaving kids 3yrs and under alone while you go get pissed with your mates is just absurd, there was a babysitting service for christs sake in the complex, whatever happened they have to live with that guilt, of all people doctors should know about duty of care.

Another thing I learnt and did not know was the twins slept through all the commotion, people rushing about in the apartment looking for Maddie, that is strange, was she sedating them so they could go out drinking?

Yes but you point out your stance on likely to cause harm Maddie was abducted, not reported being left on her own and ok where the law would have just been a warning not the serious implications that unfolded they could have been on holiday in Butlins in the UK our Social services , and police would have been far more rigid on the Law imo./...
In Portugal the law did not exist so they could not be prosecuted ......

What TV channel is showing "Das Boot" Joey? Would be interested in that. The film was excellent.
Its on a boxset on sky maybe sky atlantic good waterfalls will have it ;)
By the way its based on the authors books - my son tells me nothing like the film story, but just as compelling land , and sea involved so far a great watch ;)
pm me if you are stuck getting it.....

This seems to be the most common conclusion people come to if they believe the parents were involved. They sedated them, maddy had some kind of an accident whilst sedated and died... the problem with that is no one can really explain what happened to the body. There is the fridge theory but i believe timelines don't add up on that theory ??

No clue myself other than a nagging feeling the parents know more than they are letting on.

It's just strange they slept, knowing how easy it is to disturb babies of that age.
