I hadn't watched any Luther until a couple of weeks ago, but, have now caught up. Series five was up there with the best of the previous series. Brilliant.
Agree with this, it was watchable, but I never felt like I had to watch Season 2.

Started "Mindhunter" the other night. Only x1 episode in, looks smart. Slow burn drama set in 70's with immaculate visual crafting from David Fincher and an intelligent focus on the psychological aspect of police/fed operations. It's a look at the how to break down suspects and get into their heads and modus operandi. None of that cliche Hollywood "running around shooting suspects and getting in touch with your mis-matched partner's emotions" nonsense.
Fincher has made some incredible films (Seven/Zodiac/fight Club) and also some dreadful ones (Benjamin Button/Alien 3).... this looks very promising however.

Yeah it's really good. Slow burn and intelligent is right. Not for everyone. Smartly done. First season had some flaws but there's enough there to have a great Season 2
