Watched the last couple. Enjoyed the ‘Vic, I’ve fallen” bit when Bob knelt and crumpled while Paul was oblivious, in the process of actually quite skilfully catching a fish. lol I like shows like this - on the surface it’s about fishing, and to a non- fisherman, it’s interesting, but then you have all the other elements - the comedy, the genuine friendship and respect, etc. Having grown up in the 90s, both are genuine icons to me, so I love seeing them both on screen together like this. There’s also that whole bittersweet ‘mate, we’re getting old’ thing going on. Great telly.

Have you ever watched Three Men in a Boat? Sounds very similar but about sailing/boating.

Think they are both just naturally very funny. Athletico Mince that Bob Mortimer does is great as well.

Very warm and comforting watch as well.

Anybody seen Person of Interest, its on Netflix, started watching, got to the end of season 1 and a note has come up saying being removed on 01/08, guna have to watch 3 series in 20 days haha,

its excellent though, part crime, part sci fi, with a little bit of ethics consideration thrown in, I personally love it

yeah I only just saw yday basically the same gang made westworld, so I think ill be watching that when done with this, the only annoying thing is the last season of POI is not on Netflix as apparently the network that made it realeased their own streaming service before the last season so didn't licence it out to anyone else!

grr.....these people make it so hard to stay within the law haha

The Tatler showed art films I remember going there with some lads from school to see a Kaneto Shindo film Onibaba. And it had nothing to do with any nude scenes that might have been in the film,honest

i read that book a few months ago joey.excellent book.i really enjoyed it.

It's a shame a movie could not be made of it - the waffen SS were the equilent to the marines a fighting unit of high calible not to be mixed up with the secret vicious SS - still though ver contentious when the book came out - the original edition paperback was going for hundreds of pounds on eBay a while ago ...I looked in vain for it on the car boots
Got a reproduction of the original a great read the the USSR were no angels either ...
My late father shared the book with his Huyton BICC he got it back worn out everyone loved the story it portrayed what was to follow in Vietnam pity lessons could not have been learnt.......
The main guy in it wrote to the top USA milartary to warn the pitfalls and advise they shunned him....

There is a great book about Dien Bien Phu called "Hell in a very small place" where that is sort of mentioned, except somewhat obliquely.

Starting watch The Vietnam War by Ken Burns on Netflix. 18 hours split into 10 episodes. Interesting to see the utter naivety and black and white thinking that led to that starting.

Watched the first 2 episodes. Love it so far, right up my street!
