TV Series

Starting watch The Vietnam War by Ken Burns on Netflix. 18 hours split into 10 episodes. Interesting to see the utter naivety and black and white thinking that led to that starting.

I think this might be the series that was originally shown on BBC4 - its absolutely riveting and scary at the same time. Frightening what one man can consider doing to another on behalf of others I was so impressed with it that I linked it onto my FB with a must see recommendation. Think I got one like for doing so. I should have just posted a picture of my breakfast.

The Russians also warned them / us not to go into Afghanistan too.
ya big bully mentality.ye soft europeans let us show you how big bad yankeeman takes care of things.we blow alot of things up and ye will bend the knee.wait why aren't ye bending the knee and why are ye killing us with our weapons.
ah there has to be lads in the shadows that these long draw out wars benefit.no money in peace.

Good job H Wilson swerved it on our behalf...based on basically we couldnt afford it
Also in the referendum on then the common market he kept out of that and let the people decide, had his faults , but I remember his main slogan - buy British......
ruddy hard now most of our things have been sold of the family silver.......
On entering office in the 60's he stopped the debt payment on USA world war 2 ships that we were still paying for on tick......

It could do with being longer than 30 mins, as it`s just so easy to watch.

They`re obviously very close friends, which gives them licence to be so cruel to each other lol
Watched the last couple. Enjoyed the ‘Vic, I’ve fallen” bit when Bob knelt and crumpled while Paul was oblivious, in the process of actually quite skilfully catching a fish. I like shows like this - on the surface it’s about fishing, and to a non- fisherman, it’s interesting, but then you have all the other elements - the comedy, the genuine friendship and respect, etc. Having grown up in the 90s, both are genuine icons to me, so I love seeing them both on screen together like this. There’s also that whole bittersweet ‘mate, we’re getting old’ thing going on. Great telly.

Anybody seen Person of Interest, its on Netflix, started watching, got to the end of season 1 and a note has come up saying being removed on 01/08, guna have to watch 3 series in 20 days haha,

its excellent though, part crime, part sci fi, with a little bit of ethics consideration thrown in, I personally love it

It's a very good fast moving futuristic show - the guy would have made a great James Bond!

I agree with you there, I really like him, underrated albeit limited actor (although he did play Jesus haha)

maybe they should have got him in for the Jason Bourne one that wasn't matt damon instead of Jeremy Renner
