TV Series

Anyone watch Designated Surivor? Watched 11 episodes of the first season and I am enjoying it. Heard people have lost interest in it though later on but we will see.

In season 2 the only person worth watching is Maggie Qs character.

Watched it all until the break but haven’t bothered going back to it since they’ve put up new episodes. I hear it’s been cancelled now as well, so may go back to it to finish it. Quite entertaining in those early episodes, but it got very silly as it hit season two.

Boring really now...if Maggie Q wasnt in it then worthless to watch.

Currently watching a few things

The looming tower - it’s ok but I’ve got to stick with it

Rescue me - few on here said it’s awful . I disagree so far (8 episodes in ) it’s funny with proper New York humour . And dark at times .

Southland - at the end of S3 and it’s superb . Can’t believe I didn’t get on this when it came out .

30 for 30 doc’s - got about 25 left out of about 85 episodes. Again very good at times some not great but I love hearing about old sport stories .

Billions - watchable and defo worth sticking with but not just above average.

24 hours in police custody - wow there are some weird people out there .

Rescue me - New York humour? So that surely means its not funny?

Billions is currently the best thing on tv.

I was enjoying Designated survivor yano.

I mean it was tv by numbers, cliches AOTS, but it was still enjoyable, gutted its been cancelled.

The last ever The Americans was on the other day.

At times it was a hard watch, very up and down, but overall I thought it was a very good show, ending wasnt great if im honest, but very enjoyable last episode.

And I agree with Zat, not much better currently on then Billions, rate it higher than Westworld atm.

old school New York humour is funny , you never laughed at the sopranos ??? ( I know that’s New Jersey like )

Anyone else like Brooklyn Nine-Nine? Started watching a week and a half ago, and it is brilliant! I'm already on season 5.

Apparently a lot of people like it, but none of them watch it. Originally averaged 4.8m viewers the first season, down to well under 3.0m for the last couple. (I like it, but stuck being way behind on whatever Netflix South America opts to let us see.)

Funniest thing is The Independent referred to it as "Fox's hit" in the cancellation article... 99 was 80th. boring Simpsons was at 41st for comparison. Young Sheldon (?!?!?) is 10th.

NBC picked it up, but think it will be like Community or one of these other good shows with a good ensemble cast that gets a temporary reprieve (Chuck was another thanks to the fans and Subway) and stagger on a year. Problem is ratings aren't great and it can't be terribly cheap to pay all those characters a weekly paycheck.

It is a shame more people don't watch it because it is so funny :( :(

That's what I don't get. I could see the OG Arrested Development getting binned, or Community in the day for their unconventional humor, or (also this Spring) Ash vs. Evil Dead (humor, excessive and often gross gore as well as being on a STARZ), but B99's humor is far more conventional. And with a good cast/set of characters there should be at least one person any viewer can relate to/enjoy. FWIW Jeffords and Diaz are my faves.
