The first season of True Detective is still the best TV I've ever seen.

100%.

It's the only TV series that I've ever watched immediately after finishing it the first time around.

Pity they tired to be clever with the second series and have three lead actors rather than two, which made it too complicated.

Colin Farrel and Vince Vaughan were very good in it though.

Watched the first series but didn't think the second series wasn't up to it.

They changed the second series slightly from the books, which weakened it.

I've heard rumours that they're planning a sequel, even though there's no book to take it from.
